Women in maritime
What did you want to become when you were a kid and why?
I wanted to become an archaeologist since I thought it was so exciting to find treasure in the ground. I gave up this dream when I was older, since I realised the patience you need to have in that profession, which I don’t have.
Why did you choose to work within shipping?
I did not choose shipping; I chose the brand Stena Line. It is a well-known brand in Gothenburg where I live. As an HRBP I wanted a business that was hands-on and where I could contribute outside of my profession.
What is your best work-related memory?
I cannot pick one memory, but all of them include being together with colleagues and celebrating success. Some examples: when my colleagues and I did a roadshow on board to have equal treatment training; to be outside the office together with the German region having workshops and dinner; being at a spa with colleagues having meetings. Or nowadays… just having fun at a virtual “fika”….and I could have given you 100 more examples.
Who has been your role model and why?
My Manager, Margareta Jensen Dickson, since she is a very good leader herself. She gives a lot of trust, freedom and positive feedback that makes you grow.
