Do you have experience as operations manager or deputy hotel manager and are you ready for a new adventure? Do you ever think about working on a freight ship with 138 Cabins, a buffet restaurant, duty free shop & some gambling machines, which can carry 300 passengers.? Onboard the ferries at Stena Line you will have the opportunity to shine; use all your current skills and gain vital new ones. Work with your international close-knit team and make sure Stena Line is always the customer’s first choice.
You manage approximately 10 colleagues and you identify opportunities for improvement and take proactive action. You are responsible for the service in our guest outlets and you are also jointly responsible for the financial results.
You coach, facilitate and develop teams, and you stimulate colleagues to take the next steps and In the role of Onboard Sales & Service manager you manage all daily onboard services.

You make sure that facilities and processes meet all legal and quality requirements, including in the field of HACCP and extensive first aid. You are co-responsible for the quality of the services and purchased products. You help to draw up the budgets and monitor them in accordance.

As such it is a requirement that you need to be in good physical and mental health and being fluent in English is essential.
Good to know
Our ferries depart from Hoek van Holland, Harwich and Killingholme, this position is for our ship the Stena Transit. This RoRo ship carries only Freight passengers, the work involves flexible working hours on a rota base and you are on call during nights. We're looking for people which go that extra mile for our customers to make sure their trip is as comfortable and safe as possible
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor degree, preferably in Hotel Management;
- At least 3 years of managerial experience & 5 years operations experience preferably in a hotel environment or shipping industry;
- Prior experience using Microsoft Office required, including Excel & Power point;
- Must be able to communicate professionally in Dutch and English, both written and verbal;
- Management skills and leading by example!
- High level of problem solving abilities and proactivity;
- Strong at multi-tasking and working in a fast paced environment;
- Professionalism, positive attitude and a team player is a must;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Financial knowledge;
- Business & commercial minded;

- A fixed-term contract for the duration of 12 months with the prospect of permanent employment;
- A sailing and leave schedule from week on and off;
