Stena Line’s People & Communications team has a crucial part in this journey. The HR team leads all HR matters regarding our employees, partnering with 4 of our vessels as well as our shore operations in 5 ports, not to mention our other teams that make the magic happen.
What will you do?
Well, most of our colleagues work at sea and we are looking for a HR Business Partner to work with our business at sea and also support our ports operations on all HR matters. Your main mission is to support and coach the managers in your business areas so that they can fulfill their people management responsibility and become true Stena Line leaders. With the strategic HR business plan in mind, you will drive, influence and advise on all people aspects such as organisation change, structures, people processes and business improvement initiatives. You get to travel on our vessels on a regular basis!
- Provide day to day support for managers in operational HR matters.
- Act as a single point of contact for managers in your business units
- Guide, coach and advice managers in employee development, performance, employee relations and HR issues in line with the company policy
- Design and facilitate training sessions for managers and employees, in line with our cultural journey

Who are you?

You are able to deal with the typical issues when it comes to working with employees and are not afraid of challenging managers to think outside the box. You are motivated by strengthening managers through coaching them in their daily work and making them the best people managers possible. You have a passion for working with people and to see them grow, as well as working close to the operation. To deliver what you have promised to others is just as important.
The must haves
- Experience working as a HR Business Partner or similar HR role, preferable from a multi site / location organisation with operational focus. Shipping, transport and logistics experience would be great.
- CIPD Qualified to level 5
- Experienced user of MS Office
- Ability to travel on a regular basis. Your office could be in Holyhead today, France or Ireland tomorrow and even the middle of the Irish sea is a probability
This is a full time position. Based from our Holyhead Port with regular travel within the Irish Sea network.
