Working alongside your close-knit team, you have the responsibility to ensure that the journey is exciting and comfortable, both for our guests and for your colleagues. What does a Steward do?
At Stena Line, no day is like the other and as a host onboard you will be where the guests need you the most. In our restaurants and cafes, you will be required to serve the customers at an effective and brisk pace, but also to take time to assist and listen to our guests. In the stores onboard, you’ll sell all products we have available, ranging from alcoholic drinks to sun cream! In short, as a Steward you are ready to work hard and use your enthusiastic and receptive attitude to enable our guests to relax and have an enjoyable experience!

At times you may live onboard staying in one of our crew cabins, there’s a gym and plenty of room to relax, have fun and hang out with your colleagues. Are you one of our new Stewards?
At Stena Line, your personality matters just as much as how good you are at what you do. In our employees we like to see use of initiative, creativity and enthusiasm within all aspects of their position. Your ability to provide a consistently high standard of service is of course important, but so is a passion for the role you will be placed in. All our employees have the responsibility for our passengers’, and their own safety onboard. As such it is a requirement that you need be in good physical and mental health and being fluent in English is essential.
This is a great opportunity for you who already have previous seafaring experience and the following certificates:
· STCW Elementary First Aid
· STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
· STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibility
· STCW Personal Survival Techniques
· STCW Proficiency in Security Awareness
· Crowd Management Training
· Passenger Safety Training
Good to know
Our ferries depart from Cairnryan, Belfast & Liverpool. The work involves varying working hours including nights. During the seasonal months, you are guaranteed lots of hours as these are our peak months and busiest times onboard.
