HR Business Partner

We are looking for a new colleague to support our business, both at sea and ashore. The essence of the role is to live and breathe Stena Line’s values by being welcoming, caring and responsible and proactively contributing towards making Stena Line a great place to work.
As a HR Business Partner you have a full generalist remit to advise, guide and support all our line managers & colleagues within our business region. You will also ensure that managers can fulfil their people management responsibilities and become true Stena Line Leaders. With our Company and People Strategy in mind, you will drive all aspects of People Management, with a strong focus on Absence Management.
Key responsibilities:
You will proactively drive a full generalist remit including supporting the business to:
- Continually improve the employee experience
- Create an inclusive culture where individuals can thrive
- Ensure all colleagues have the knowledge, skills and experience to fulfil individual and organisational needs and ambitions
- Maximise potential through talent identification, engagement and planning
- Ensure the relationship between the business and colleagues is managed through transparent practices and relevant law
- Drive a high performance culture
- Analyse/trends metrics and work with developing solutions
Given the nature of our business you will be required to travel on a regular basis.

You will be part of the Irish Sea People team who work closely with the business to handle all people matters for our employees within the region which includes 9 Ports and 11 vessels throughout the Irish Sea. We are a team who work closely together and share the responsibility for providing a great candidate and employee experience.
You will be required to regularly visit all our locations and ships across the Irish Sea region.
Who you are
At Stena Line your personality matters as much as how good you are at what you do. You are someone with a can-do mind-set and a lot of drive and energy for pushing forward improvements and change. You are able to deal with the typical issues faced when working with employees and you are not afraid of challenging managers to think outside the box.
You are motivated by strengthening managers through coaching them in their daily work and making them the best people managers possible. You have a passion for working with people and seeing them grow and you enjoy being close to the operation.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent within HR
- CIPD qualified
- Solid experience working as a HR Business Partner or in a similar HR-role
- Knowledge of handling and resolving complex cases including but not limited t capability, occupational health reviews, phased returns, implementing reasonable adjustments.
- Experience in critically assessing litigation risk
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Experienced user of MS Office
- Full driving licence & Passport - to drive/travel on a regular basis

This is a full-time, permananent position. Your base location will be in one of our ports, most likely Belfast, Dublin, Birkenhead or Holyhead as part of our People & Communications team, you will need to travel across the Irish Sea region from time to time and some home working will be possible.
